JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – No. 15 Birmingham-Southern softball dropped its season opener Friday night in game one of the Spring Classic, falling 5-0 to Emory & Henry.
The Panthers against a rock solid starter for the Wasps. Morgan McGuire (Notasulga, Ala./Reeltown HS) earned BSC's first hit in the sixth inning. Annie Clayton (Eufaula, Ala./Eufaula HS) would earn the second in the seventh with two outs. The Panthers had runners in scoring position late in the game but couldn't rally them across.
BSC returns to action tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. against No. 24 DePauw University.
